Peyton – the pioneer of Neapolitan pizza in North Carolina – opened Mission Pizza Napoletana in 2014, after serving pizzas from a mobile wood-fired oven for four years. Peyton’s mission was to bring one of the world's great culinary traditions to his hometown of Winston-Salem, where he honors the centuries-old tradition of pizza makers from Naples.

As North Carolina’s first Neapolitan pizzeria, Mission Pizza Napoletana is a leader in the region, nationally recognized as a destination for pizza. Baked in a handmade Stefano Ferrara wood-fired oven at 900 degrees, the pizza is soft and light, yet crisp, and topped with fresh, local and artisanal ingredients. Peyton embraces both traditional and modern methods and is committed to quality. Mission Pizza is also a proper osteria, serving a full menu of Italian-inspired pastas, salads and vegetables, as well as local craft beers and Italian wines from small producers.

Peyton has been highlighted locally and nationally and is among the nation’s most well-known pizza bakers headlining the first annual New York Pizza Festival, taking place in October 2018.
